The Nest

Shop - Eat - Drink - Unwind

A nest is a snug, retreat or refuge; a resting place to sit down. Since opening in June 2014 The Nest, Ledbury has developed into a much loved destination.  A unique, quirky, casual but comfortable, family friendly licensed Café/Deli serving wonderful fresh, simple food, delicious fair-trade coffee and teas, alongside a very local grocery store, with an excellent bakery section featuring artisan breads and cakes, regional beers, wines and spirits.

In the words of Tripadvisor in 2017 “What's not to like about the Nest? - mismatched chairs and tables; quirky architectural bits and bobs; scrumptious rarebit; local produce and friendly staff"

The Nest Worcester builds on the success of the Nest Ledbury and will be an exciting all day Cafe/Deli in the stunningly restored historic Royal Porcelain Works, with a comfortable, eclectic mix of classic and vintage furnishings, serving top quality simple food made to order, delicious coffee, tea and homemade cakes.  It will also be a proper grocery store, stocking the basics - milk and fresh bread butter - as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, amazing artisan cheeses and those special deli treats such as Herefordshire escargot!

Our story

Back in 2002 Penny was enjoying running a thriving catering business from our home in rural Herefordshire whilst I was following a slightly more bohemian path painting murals and faux finishes. Launching our Scotch eggs on the world at the Teme Valley farmers market we gradually built up to 27 markets a month extending the word further afield through shows, mainstream food festivals, game fairs and horse trials; building an enviable reputation and catching the eye of some great independent foodie shops along the way.....all the while edging towards our mission to make the humble Scotch egg Britain's favourite snack once again!  Although we now produce around 30,000 Scotch eggs a week in a state of the art production kitchen everything is made by hand in small batches the same way - to the original recipes that Penny created and developed at the very beginning. We opened the first Scotch egg shop ‘in the world’ - egg’cetera - opened in Friar Street in Worcester in 2010 and the Nest Ledbury 2014.   We are delighted that the Nest Worcester is the next chapter in our story!
