All our pricing covers all paint, glazing and firing costs, then you simply pay the price of the ceramics you pick which range from £7 – £30. Our ceramics change all the time, so please come and see to enquire what we have.

Absolutely anyone can do ceramic painting aged from new born to 100+. We can do baby footprints from just a few days old and host birthday parties for all ages. As a parent you will know best how much your child will get from the activity and even the messiest painting can look gorgeous. It’s not just for kid’s either, adults are welcome to paint any time.

We use water-based, lead-free paints which are non-toxic and wash out of clothes – so don’t worry if you get a bit messy! We have a vast array to choose from.

How long is a piece of string? Painting can take as long as you want it to. We usually say allow between one and two hours for a painting session, although it can be done quicker or you can take your time.

Booking is essential via our website. There is no payment upfront – however you do need to reserve your space for an allotted time. We will always try to accommodate walk-ins, so please feel free to pop upstairs if you see the information board displayed downstairs.

Please allow 72 working hours for us to glaze and fire your ceramics. During busy periods this can take longer, but you will be given a collection time on a day after 2pm when you paint. If you need something on a shorter deadline, let us know before you start painting and we will do our best to get it fired in time for you.

There is the conveniently located Gootroots Café, just downstairs from our studio. As well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks they offer a wide selection of breakfasts, brunch and lunch dishes, cakes and pastries.
