Worcestershire Open Studios
The Royal Porcelain Works (RPW) is excited to be taking part in the 2018 Worcestershire Open Studios for the first time this summer.
Worcestershire is home to a fantastic range of artistic talent, and as part of the redevelopment of the Royal Porcelain works site, there will be dedicated new facilities and opportunity for local artists and craftspeople both to showcase their work and demonstrate their skills to the community. These facilities will form an integral part of our new centre for the arts in Worcester, and the RPW is delighted to announce that we are participating in Worcestershire Open Studios 2018 in celebration of this new venture.
Across the August bank holiday (Saturday 25th to Monday 27th August), more than 200 artists will open their studios, homes, spaces, exhibitions and galleries at over 85 different locations across Worcestershire, with a truly diverse range of original and locally made artworks and pieces on show and available to purchase. This initiative gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to explore a whole host of creative spaces, to meet the people behind the creative processes and to talk to these artists directly about their inspiration.
Now in its fourth year and a firm feature within the county arts calendar, Worcestershire Open Studios was founded by a group of local artists who had a vision of establishing an annual open studios event in Worcester and the surrounding areas. We are thrilled to be taking part this summer, and look forward to playing a role in supporting our arts world in the years to come.
Do come and see us at the RPW during the course of the Bank Holiday as you explore the open studios across the county.
